Counting the days until Christmas is a treasured holiday tradition. Enjoy this fun holiday pastime with your preschooler using the candy cane tree advent activity. Every day until Christmas place a candy cane ornament on your Christmas tree. By Christmas day you’ll not only have a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, but friends and family can also eat the candy cane ornaments for a sweet holiday snack.
What You Will Need
Small Fresh or Artificial Christmas Tree
What to Do
Step 1:
Place a small Christmas tree in a prominent area within your house.
Step 2:
Put 25 candy canes in a basket or other container next to the Christmas tree.
Step 3:
On December 1, have your preschooler decorate the Christmas tree by hanging a candy cane from one of the branches.
Step 4:
Repeat Step 3 every day until Christmas.
Step 5:
On Christmas day friends and family can enjoy a sweet holiday treat and eat the candy canes right off the tree.
