Ever wonder what Santa would put in one of those giant christmas stockings? Why not stuff a preschooler in there?! A holiday twist on the traditional potato sack race, the Christmas stocking sack race activity tests preschoolers' coordination skills, which may be complicated by the giggle factor. This festive Christmas activity will have preschooler's ho ho ho-ing as they hop in a giant Christmas stocking to the holiday garland finish line. This Christmas preschool activity is certain to be a hit at holiday parties too!
What You Will Need
Giant Christmas Stocking, one for each preschooler participating
Christmas Garland, about two feet
Holiday Music/CD Player
Large Grassy Area to Play
What to Do
Step 1:
Put on some holiday music to set the mood.
Step 2:
Lay the Christmas garland out at one end of your grassy area to create a finish line.
Step 3:
Equip each preschooler with a giant Christmas stocking.
Step 4:
Instruct each preschooler to step inside their giant Christmas stocking. It may be easier if they remove their shoes first.
Step 5:
Just like a traditional potato sack race, have preschoolers race to the Christmas garland finish line by hopping inside of their giant Christmas stocking. The first preschooler to the finish line wins!

After the Christmas stocking sack race, gather up some glitter pens and let each preschooler decorate his/her stocking.
