Father's Day Feast Preschool Activity

Honor Dad by cooking up a Father’s Day Feast with your preschooler. Spending time in the kitchen preparing a meal for Dad will not only be fun for moms and their preschoolers, but is sure to put an appreciative grin on Dad’s face. What better way to spend Father’s Day then to eat a meal prepared by Daddy’s favorite preschooler! And to make this feast extra special, serve foods that start with the letter “F” for Father.

Father's Day Prep

Get your preschooler involved by letting him/her prepare as much of the meal themselves as possible. Start by letting your preschooler pour the Fritos into Dad’s favorite bowl. Purchase a frozen fruit punch mix so that your preschooler can do all the stirring. Naturally, the main course and side dish are best prepared by mom, but the fun of frosting and decorating cupcakes is definitely a job for a preschooler! Don’t forget to let your preschooler help set the table as well.

Father's Day Feast

Spend some quality time feasting as a family, talking, sharing and laughing. Your preschooler will love the sense of accomplishment he/she gets from helping to prepare a meal especially for Dad. And Dad will be touched by the sentiment. Who knows? Maybe your Father’s Day Feast will be such a hit with Dad and your preschooler that it will become a treasured family tradition!

Turn Your Father’s Day Feast into a Learning Activity

Use the time in the kitchen with your preschooler to practice sounding out the letter “F.” Cover your dining table with a white paper tablecloth. Have your preschooler decorate the tablecloth with the letter “F.” This is a fun way for your preschooler to practice his/her writing skills.

Happy Father’s Day!
