What You Will NeedDifficulty Level 4 out of 5

26 - 3x5 Cards with a letter of the alphabet written on each one

Scotch Tape

A Basket/Bag to collect the letters

What to Do

Place the cards on objects throughout your home by taping each one to something that begins with the corresponding letter. For example, tape the letter “A" to an apple in your fruit basket. Tape the letter “B” to a bookcase. Tape the letter “C” to the carpet. Tape the letter “D” to a door and so on.

How to Play

Step 1:

Set your preschooler loose in the house with a basket or bag to collect the letters of the alphabet.

Step 2:

Liven up the game by singing the “ABC Song” together. The song will also help to remind your preschooler of all the letters of the alphabet he/she is looking for.

Step 4:

Step 5:

Once your preschooler has collected all the letters of the alphabet, find a spot to lay out the cards, and organize them alphabetically. For an added challenge, point to individual letters in a random order and ask your preschool to name each one.
