What You Need
Camera -- regular 35mm or digital
Spiral notebook
Markers
Glue or tape
Step 1: Along with an adult, have your preschooler walk around your neighborhood or town and take pictures of landmarks, stores, parks or anything that is of interest to the child.
Step 2: Once printed, have your child glue or tape the pictures into a notebook.
Step 3: Help the child identify these sites by colors, shapes, textures and letters in the name of the place. On your next outing, your preschooler can bring the notebook and camera along and add to his/her notebook. This will be a wonderful tool to also have as a keepsake as your child grows -- especially if you move.
Who says Bear is the only one who can map out his week? With this preschool activity, your child can make his/her own map and pinpoint different places s/he travels to on a daily basis.
